Car driving the wrong way
Detect a vehicle moving against the marked direction on internal site roads.
Wrong-way driving caught before a collision happens
The "Car driving the wrong way" scenario detects a vehicle moving against the posted direction. On one-way internal roads, yards and dock approaches, wrong-way driving risks collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians.
Automatic detection lets you alert security the moment a vehicle moves in the wrong direction — before an incident — instead of reconstructing the collision from footage afterwards.

Reaction at the moment it happens
A detection raises an alert and andon signal the instant a vehicle moves against the traffic direction in the watched lane.
Configurable traffic zones
You define the one-way roads and lanes and the permitted direction — detection runs only where it matters.
Around-the-clock monitoring
Detection runs continuously, 24/7, with no fatigue or breaks — every movement on the site road is covered.
How wrong-way detection works
Industrial cameras watch the traffic lane while vision servers run the SAM3 detection model with the prompt "car driving in wrong direction" at the edge. Every match becomes an event that integration gateways forward to AndonCloud and machine PLCs.
The event turns into an alert, an andon signal, a dashboard entry and a line in a report — with no footage sent to the cloud and no strain on your infrastructure.

Detection at the edge
The model runs locally on the vision server — low latency and no footage streamed off-site.
Andon & PLC integration
A detected event can trigger a light signal, a security notification or an action on a controller — for example holding a barrier.
No footage in the cloud
Analysis happens at the edge — only events leave the site, not the video stream.
Example use and privacy
On a one-way logistics yard the camera spots a vehicle moving against the markings and immediately triggers a light signal and a notification for the on-duty security officer, while the event lands in the traffic-safety report.
The system recognises the wrong-direction movement event, not the driver's identity — it performs no biometric identification or face recognition.

No driver identification
Detection is about an event and a direction of travel, not personal data — no face or plate recognition.
A full event trail
Every detection is logged with time and location, ready for analysis of traffic violations in reports.
Ready for traffic reports
Every detection lands in a report with time and location — ready for traffic-safety trend analysis.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- A vehicle moving against the posted direction on an internal site road. The system recognises the wrong-direction movement event, not the driver's identity.
- No. Detection is about an event and a direction of travel — there is no biometric identification, face recognition or plate reading.
- Yes. Detection zones and the direction of travel are configurable, so the system reacts only on the one-way lanes you define.
- The event triggers an alert, an andon signal, a dashboard entry and a report line; it can also trigger a controller action such as a light signal or barrier.
- Yes. The model runs at the edge on the vision server, so the reaction happens the moment a vehicle moves in the wrong direction.
- Standard industrial IP cameras watching the traffic lane; the image is analysed locally by the vision server.
- No. Analysis happens at the edge — only events leave the site, not the video stream.
- Yes. Integration gateways link events to AndonCloud and PLC controllers — for example a light signal or a security notification.
The “Car driving the wrong way” scenario detects a vehicle moving against the posted direction. On one-way internal roads, yards, and dock approaches, wrong-way driving risks collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians.
In the AndonCloud platform, industrial cameras watch the traffic lane while vision servers run the SAM3 model with the prompt “car driving in wrong direction”. When wrong-way movement is detected, the integration gateway turns it into an event: an andon signal, an alert to security, and an entry in dashboards and reports, enabling a fast response and analysis of traffic violations.
For example, on a one-way logistics yard the system warns the on-duty officer about a vehicle moving against the markings, reducing the risk of a collision. The system detects only the wrong-direction movement event — not the driver's identity — and performs no biometric identification.
